The Richard H. Smoot Memorial Lectureship

In 1977, following the death of Dr. Richard Smoot, DMS past president, leader in the development of DeKalb Medical Center and community servant, the Society established the Richard H. Smoot Memorial Fund. The purpose of the fund is to support an annual lectureship that focuses on topics of interest to Dr. Smoot such as medical ethics, religion, the humanities, and politics. Previous lectures include:
